Africa has gained a reputation over the years of corruption and many Western countries have made big noises especially when discussing aid. So well versed are these arguments that you hear normal ‘on the street’ Joes using that as a reason ‘not to give aid to African countries’.

Many of us in the know that this is not only an African disease as can be seen by the last post or the many other stories over the last few years – from raided pension funds, non-existent profits to the right mess (the result of blatant greed) we find ourselves in right now. What the Africans have failed to do is learn how to be less obvious about it and so it always looks bad.

But there are just times when it is obvious that the hand in the cookie jar is not going to be removed until it is threatened with being cut off but then again….
