People Died For This!
“MPs in Kenya have voted to boost their own salaries, making them among the world’s best paid politicians.” http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/10476388.stm. Apparently ‘the vote has provoked anger from the general public and the media, correspondents say’. Well I’m not surprised. The Kenyan PM will earn more than the Uk Premier and the US President and this is a third world country with much lower costs of living.
People died to get these people into the position they are in and what do they do? Fill their pockets at the expense of the development of their people. If anything, this is proof that ‘governments of national unity’ are a farce, the fighting was all about getting to the trough and thereafter the worst of enemies will both stick their noses in and share the spoils. I so hope three Kenyan people remember this greed the next time they go to the polls – stop fighting and killing each other at elections and kick this bunch to the kerb! You deserve so much better.
